Update: I'm in Virginia. I'm being reassured by my associates with me here that I shouldn't have any problems with my orders going forward. This is making me feel cautiously optimistic about my chances at going to work. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Update: I'm heading out as of 10 am EST for Virginia. Hopefully I'll get there in one piece. I'm not in really good shape right now emotionally, but I need to push forward. I keep acting like my orders are going to be rescinded by Wednesday. That's enough to get me going right now.
So, things are in flux at the moment. I'm not entirely certain what's going to happen, but to make a long story short: due to what amounts to a clerical error I may or may not be going down to work in Alabama for the next 5 months. It's really silly and dumb and something that could not have been handled by me on my end.
They messed up and now I might not have this opportunity to work. So that sucks.
As it stands now, I'm following what the paperwork in my hand says. I'm going to take off for Virginia tomorrow. Monday I'll begin training and hopefully get some details on what my status is before I have to start travel down to Alabama later on in the week.
I don't like posting these types of journal entries. I try to keep out "woe is me" nonsense from here as I know everyone is struggling in some form or another. This has just been very taxing on me for the last few weeks and in the very likely case that my working contract gets rescinded, I'll have wasted a lot of time packing up my life and moving halfway to the South only to be told to go back home, my paperwork kerfuffle is more trouble than I'm worth.
I'll update this journal entry as new information follows.
Hope everyone else is doing alright!
